Behind the Vision

EEC envisions educators across the nation who have the competencies, capacity, and compassion to effectively support students and families experiencing barriers to daily school attendance.

With more than 35 years of combined experience, our team works alongside district leaders to move beyond isolated attendance initiatives. We help build the strategy, infrastructure, and district capacity needed to create lasting improvement. We have partnered with more than 30 districts nationwide, and our work spans the full arc of attendance improvement:

  • Understanding what is driving chronic absence
  • Building the systems and structures needed to respond
  • Supporting district and school teams through implementation and sustained progress

"I struggled with daily attendance as early as elementary school, and I dropped out of school during my first year of high school. EEC exists to help students stay connected to a future worth showing up for."

— Dr. Beshon Trusty, Executive Director
